History of Edward the First
Who is Edward the First?
The band is comprised of four members: Jason Day (Bass, Vocals), Anthony Meleca (guitar, vocals), Sean Jones (guitar, vocals), and Heath Cooley (percussion, drums). The group formed in Australia and had been playing on the Sydney and Melbourne club circuits attracting a sizable following and the attention of several local recording companies. The band relocated to Los Angeles late 1997. With the band is also Richard Gilkerson (Lyricist, Assistant Manager (818) 755-0051).
Relocating to the United States
After strong and encouraging interest from the American music industry the band decided to relocate to Los Angeles. In that time, the band has enjoyed a success in both the L.A. club circuit and other West Coast Cities.
Musical Style and Influence
The musical style of the group falls into Pop. The dynamic writing abilities of the group give them wide range of styles and appeal, from very commercial to slightly alternative and Pop Rock. Major influences stem mainly from British Pop Rock bands from the 60's to the 90's, as well as several Australian and American Pop bands.
